Loren Martin, Ph.D.

Dr. Loren Martin received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, Institute of Medical Science where he studied the modulation of hippocampus plasticity by GABAergic inhibition. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Boston University before completing a second postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University. While at McGill, he studied genetic, cognitive and social influences on pain modulation in mice and people. In 2015, he joined the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto where his lab continues to study the social and cognitive intersection of pain with efforts toward developing novel translational models.
